Tuttosport have taken a look at the future of Mauro Icardi at Inter and players that the Nerazzurri could bring in to potential replace him.

The events of the recent months have made it seemingly certain that the Argentine forward will be moved on this Summer.

The same events have undoubtedly damaged Icardi’s transfer value and will mean Inter will be unable to get what they truly value him at.

For this reason, they are examining the possibility of a swap deal involving the 26-year-old forward who has been at the club since 2013.

Juventus’s Paulo Dybala has been mentioned as has Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne. With both players virtually amortised on the respective budgets of the clubs, it makes things far easier if things get serious concerning a swap.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta favours Dybala, a player he has worked with before. The Argentine currently earns €7 million a season and would want around €9 million, a huge salary compared to Inter’s current wage structure.

In this regard, Insigne would appear a better signing on the salary front. He currently earns €4.6 million a year in Naples and the inevitable salary rise would almost certainly fall in Inter’s parameters better.

However, the problem with Insigne is that Inter value Icardi at more than him whilst this is not the case with Dybala.

The report also stresses that any other striker will have to coexist with Roma’s Edin Dzeko who appears set to join Inter to shore up their attack.
