Despite facing competition from bigger clubs for his signature, Roma are seriously keen on bringing Antonio Conte in as their new manager this Summer according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Giallorossi sacked manager Eusebio Di Francesco in recent months and Claudio Ranieri has come in in the interim.

Roma, as per the report, face competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain from abroad whilst Juventus, Inter and Milan have also been heavily linked with the former Italian national team manager, who has been out of work since leaving Chelsea last Summer.

Conte is eager to return to the game having taken some time away and despite the fact he is likely to command a high salary, he values joining a team with an ambitious project over the financial aspect.

He is understood to want at least €9 million a year, a figure that Roma almost certainly can’t pay but they hope to try and convince him anyway and the possible arrival of friend Gianluca Petrachi at the club could help their bid to land him.
