Former Inter manager Jose Mourinho has conveyed his thoughts on the Derby D’Italia ahead of tomorrow night’s clash at San Siro.

“The match against Juve was different from all the others. As a coach, I tried to convey to my players empathy with the fans, because they live it in their DNA, in their blood,” the Portuguese, who famously led Inter to a treble, began an interview with broadcaster DAZN.

“It’s important because it pushes you to give something more, just living it as a professional is not enough.”

“Why is the Derby D’Italia so important? I never bothered to know why the game is seen as so important. For me it was enough to arrive in Milan in 2008 and immediately feel that this was a special game. This was enough.

He concluded: “When it is the most important game for the club, it had to become the same for me too.”
