Matias Vecino has admitted that Inter are keen to start reducing the gap between themselves and Juventus, who have enjoyed domestic dominance for almost a decade now.
“I think it has been a positive season for me especially because I have almost always played,” he began the interview with Uruguayan news outlet 100% Deporte.
“I still have a three-year contract with Inter, who are a very big team and a team who has shown it over the years.
“The main goal is to cut the gap with Juventus starting from the next year. It is a goal that the club have and that we players hope to be able to achieve.”
He concluded by speaking on the Champions League: “The team is growing and we must return to the Champions League on a permanent basis.”
The 27-year-old midfielder has made 36 appearances across all competitions this season and has contributed five goals and four assists.
