Inter’s Spanish midfielder Borja Valero was interviewed by Italian broadcaster SportMediaset ahead of today’s Derby d’Italia at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, with kick-off scheduled for 20.30 CET.

The former Fiorentina midfielder was asked to give his opinion on the rumors surrounding Luciano Spalletti’s future as Inter’s coach but avoided the subject completely.

“Fortunately, I am not paid to make any of these kinds of decisions. The club will know what it has to decide at the end of the season.”

Valero was asked to give a personal judgement on the development of Argentinian attacker Lautaro Martinez since joining the Nerazzurri last June from Racing Avellanada.

“Lautaro is developing well as to how he plays. It is not easy for a young player to come here, especially for him who immediately became a very important player. He is growing really well in this sence and he will be very important for the future of Inter.”
