Luciano Spalletti spoke with broadcaster DAZN following Inter’s 1-1 draw in the Derby D’Italia with rivals Juventus at San Siro.

“In the first half we had produced a clear mastery from a territorial point of view. In the second half Juventus were a little more aggressive while we lacked some quality and gave the ball up more. Our characteristics are those of a team that wants to play, in the tiniest of spaces they played a good match.

“In my opinion, we played a good game, we are now in a period where the team have realised that they have the characteristics and capabilities to put the things we want to achieve into practice. It is clear though that there were some moments wherein we lowered our quality and you could see us tiring.”

He concluded by speaking on Marcelo Brozovic’s performance.

“He took full control of his qualities and the areas of the pitch where he had to act. When you are talking about a player with his characteristics you are talking about fantastic difficult passes but there is also quality in the simple passes if they are made with the right force. And he is perfect in doing this.”
