Following Andrea Ranocchia’s contract extension yesterday, Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Inter’s defence for next season is sorted.

“With the arrival of Diego Godin and the renewal of Ranocchia, the centre of defence for the next year seems already done,” the report begins.

“Miranda will almost certainly leave whilst there is no chance that either Skriniar (who is also close to a contract extension) or de Vrij will leave.”

Ranocchia has penned a new deal that will keep him at Inter until the end of the 2020/21 season by which time he should have been able to break through the 200 appearance barrier for the club.

The 31-year-old experienced Italian international has made 195 appearances to date in Nerazzurri but has saw his playing time diminish significantly in recent seasons. This season he has managed just seven appearances across all competitions. In his 266 minutes on the park, which have also seen him used as a striker, he has scored once.
