An unnamed Sao Paulo executive has claimed that Inter defender Miranda will give them priority when he decides to return to Brazil.

The veteran Brazilian defender has long been rumoured with an exit from the club come the end of the season and a return to his homeland has been speculated about in recent months in both Italian and Brazilian media.

“He will give priority to São Paulo when he decides to return to Brazil,” the executive claimed in an interview with Yahoo Sports.

Due to the arrival of Stefan de Vrij last Summer, Miranda has saw his playing time this term significantly reduced. He has been limited to just 18 appearances across all competitions and he has not played in any of Inter’s last four games in Serie A.

The 34-year-old has been with Inter since 2016 and his contract with the club is due to expire at the end of next season.
