Inter first made contact with Ayoze Perez’s representatives over a potential Summer switch to the Nerazzurri two months ago according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was in contact with the Spaniard’s representatives over the phone and made a simple enquiry regarding his potential availability and the price it might take to bring him to the club.

The report goes on to state that Inter are not the only club to have enquired about the 25-year-old attacker, who has been with Premier League outfit Newcastle United since a 2014 move from Spanish side Tenerife.

Inter are understood to face competition from fellow Italian’s Napoli whilst Premier League pair Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping a close eye on him.

As per the report, Perez is seeking to take the next step in his playing career and he believes he has what it takes to perform for a bigger club than the Magpies, who he is contracted to until 2021.

This season Perez has scored 12 goals and grabbed four assists also in 40 outings across all competitions.
