Gazzetta dello Sport have examined the situation that Inter manager Luciano Spalletti finds himself in where seemingly no matter what he does, he will still be removed from his position in charge and replaced at the end of the season.
“Ending this year in the top four was considered the priority and minimum goal of the club. Without it, Spalletti’s sacking would have been almost automatic but even reaching it now in all probability will still not be enough, now that the shadow of Conte is becoming more and more present,” the Milan based newspaper’s report begins.
Therefore, achieving this, ultimately means nothing for Spalletti’s future at the club but certainly means something to him from a personal point of view the report goes on to state.
“For Lucio, finishing the season in third place remains a question of honour, of personal pride, of the possibility of boasting ‘a continuous growth’.”
