Journalist Luigi Garlando dedicated his weekly opinion column in Gazzetta dello Sport toward Inter’s Champions League qualification goal.

“Tonight it is up to Inter against Chievo. They will not want to be the only team chasing Champions League who do not win,” he began.

“If they win, they will need to pick up three points against either Napoli or Empoli to secure their place in the Champions League.”

Garlando then went on to stress the need for Mauro Icardi to be at his best.

“Luciano Spalletti has to find the best version of Icardi. Icardi has scored only one penalty goal in 2019 and has not scored at home since before Christmas.

“Certainly having an on-form striker in the final sprint helps out a lot. For example, Milan has been missing Krzysztof Piatek, who has not scored in six games, while Torino have found the real Andrea Belotti. From March onwards, Il Gallo has scored the second most goals in the league with only Fabio Quagliarella scoring more.
