How The Inter Team Could Look Under Antonio Conte

Following last night’s win over Chievo, Inter are on the brink of securing Champions League football for the second consecutive season and Corriere dello Sport have attempted to predict what Inter could look like next season.

With Antonio Conte coming in to replace Luciano Spalletti as manager, the Nerazzurri will adopt a 3-5-2 formation on the pitch.

Samir Handanovic will remain in goals whilst Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij will make up 2/3 of the three man defence. The defence will be completed by the addition of Diego Godin on a free transfer.

Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian and Manchester City’s Danilo will arrive in order to improve the full/wing back department.

When it comes to the midfield, Inter are keen to make a few additions. Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey will arrive whilst Nice sensation Lucien Agoume will arrive to play the Paul Pogba role in Conte’s system.

The main priority when it comes to signings is Federico Chiesa for the attack. Inter will also look to add Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku to their ranks to form a striking partnership with Lautaro Martinez. Edin Dzeko will also be brought in to add experience to the front line.

Inter have been heavily linked with moves for Ivan Rakitic, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Tanguy Ndombele and Donny van de Beek too but Chiesa, as stated above, is the priority.

The team, in the eyes of the Rome based newspaper could look like so: Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Diego Godin; Federico Chiesa, Thomas Partey, Marcelo Brozovic, Radja Nainggolan, Kwadwo Asamoah; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.
