According to Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the jeers at the San Siro after the bad performance against Chievo do not change the scenario for Mauro Icardi’s future at the club.
“Inter, along with Conte, have already decided for a long time, that they are ready to sell Icardi. This decision is not solely reliant on the negative performances on the pitch, but it is also dependent on the fact that certain relationships in the dressing room have been irreversibly broken, so much so that now even some of those who defended him are turning their backs on him.”
“Moreover, Wanda is taking every chance to reiterate that Mauro will not leave Inter, which are clearly strategic statements. In private, however Juventus continues to be a welcome destination for the Icardi family.”
“Speaking of outgoing players, Perisic, who wanted to go to the Premier League at all costs in January, is now considering the idea of staying at Inter, with his contract expiring at the end of June 2022. It is uncertain whether this is because he has rediscovered his love for Inter or if it is for fear of not being able to find a club that is willing to offer the €30 million that Inter would be demanding for him.”
