Nothing can now save Luciano Spalletti’s job at Inter, not even securing third place on top of Champions League qualification according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

Inter’s management have already made their mind up on Spalletti’s future and come the end of the season he will be dismissed and replaced by former Italian national team manager Antonio Conte.

It however remains to be seen whether Inter and Spalletti will come to terms over a contract termination or if Spalletti will remain on Inter’s books, like many other managers do when ‘sacked’ by a club in Italy.

Spalletti has been in charge of Inter since 2017 and certainly deserves credit for guiding Inter back to the Champions League for the first time in a number of years and having the club on course to do the same this year with just one win from the remaining two games required.

The report goes on to state that Inter management have now become accustomed to Spalletti’s post-match outburst but still do not like the fact that he does them, even if he claims he is doing it in order to defend the club.
