Matteo Politano’s condition will continue to be evaluated in the coming days in the lead up to Inter’s penultimate Serie A match of the season away to Napoli this weekend according to a report from Sky Sport.

The Italian international winger picked up a knock to his ankle during Inter’s 2-0 victory over Chievo Verona on Monday night and had to come off the field due to the injury.

The report from the Italian broadcaster states that he sustained a sprain to his left ankle and it remains to be seen whether or not Inter manager Luciano Spalletti will select him or not.

This season the 25-year-old, who joined Inter in a loan with redemption option deal from fellow Italian club Sassuolo, has made no less than 46 appearances across all competitions for the club. In 3303 minutes on the park, Politano, has scored six goals. He has also provided seven assists for his Nerazurri teammates.
