Inter and Cagliari have an agreement in principle over the transfer of Nicolo Barella according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.

The two clubs have come to an agreement worth around €50 million between the cash and counterpart players that will see Barella become Inter’s first signing of the Antonio Conte era.

Excellent relations between the Nerazzurri and Rossoblu are understood to have helped the deal along.

The exact counterparts that will be part of the deal are yet to be defined but the deal could include Andrea Pinamonti and Andrew Gravillon.

Inter have courted Barella for an extensive amount of time and have beaten competition from several other clubs to capture him.

The Italian international is widely regarded as one of the top Italian prospects out there and at just 22-years-old he has plenty time for improvement in the years to come.

This season he has made 36 appearances across all competitions for the Sardinian outfit. In 3203 minutes, he has a single goal and four assists to his name.
