Moments after his contract extension with the Nerazzurri became official, Inter’s Slovakian international central defender Milan Skriniar, spoke with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, to share his thoughts on the matter.

The former Sampdoria man was very happy and proud to have extended his stay with the club during a negotiation where he sacked his agent and represented himself.

“Yes it is true, I scrapped the contract with my old agent and I represented myself. I am very happy and proud to be able to wear this shirt for a further three years.”

“We want to take that last step in quality, this season we are only one win away from reaching the Champions League, something that is very important. First we have to achieve this then we can begin to go 100% in order to finish as high up as possible in the league standings.”

Skriniar then went on to talk about how quickly he adapted to life at Inter since making the switch and how he has never looked back since making his debut.

“In football sometimes things happen quickly. I was lucky to play pretty well in the first few matches, then the coach, club and the fans showed faith in me and I played all the matches. Now the season is not finished yet, we are thinking about reaching our objectives.”

“The faith showed in me since I arrived and played my first friendly last season, is something I didn’t expect when arriving from Sampdoria. This year I have only missed two matches, but it is a beautiful thing.”

“There are no easy matches in the Serie A, we want to win against Napoli and then we can be calm. We can bridge the gap to Juventus but we have to give 100% to do so as I said before.

“De Vrij has scored two or three, I still haven’t scored this season but I can still score in these last two matches.”
