Radja Nainggolan has revealed the reasoning why he joined Inter from Roma last Summer in an interview with Het Niuewsblad in his native Belgium.

Firstly he spoke on potentially playing on after his Inter contract expires at the end of the the 2021/22 season when he will be 34.

“I do not exclude the possibility of continuing my football career after the end of the contract with Inter. This is because I still feel very good and feel that I can still give a lot to a team.

“As long as I can be important for my team, I will not stop. If one day younger and stronger players arrive I will be the first to give up my place. I have to be honest with myself.”

He continued by discussing why he came to Inter.

“I came to Inter because I believe in the project the club has. This year was a year of investments.

“We have many players who had little experience but have grown, so we will be able to compete more and more in the coming years.

“This is the goal that the club and I have in mind but due to the rules of Financial Fair Play, it is not easy to grow as a club at the moment.”
