Milan Skriniar has shared his delight at signing a contract extension with the club in an interview with the club’s in-house television channel Inter TV.

“I am very happy with the renewal, I want to thank the club and the fans for the trust they always give me. I personally signed it after breaking away from my agent,” the 24-year-old began.

He was asked about his relationship with the fans and was asked if he expected to have the success he has had since joining the club.

“After the first few friendlies the fans started messaging me on Instagram. I have never seen anything like this before, I am very happy.

“Did I expect the success I’ve had? No. When I arrived at Inter it was a surprise for me. I was very happy and proud when I started playing, now I am even more so.”

The Slovakian defender was then asked what his best memory of being at Inter has been so far.

“The best memory I have is last year when we qualified in the Champions League. I believe that this year too we will qualify but we need another victory. That will be a beautiful gift for the renewal and we can do it.”

In conclusion he was asked about this weekend’s match away to Napoli.

“Games with Napoli are always good, they are open. We want to go and get the win to secure Champions League football without having to try and do it on the last game of the season. We have to give everything in order to win the match.”
