Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic could set a new record for clean sheets at the club in the league tonight Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport have highlighted.

The Slovenian shot-stopper has amassed 17 clean sheets in the 36 Serie A games played so far this season and is just one clean sheet away from setting a new record of 18.

Julio Cesar set the current record of 17, which Handanovic has obviously matched, during Inter’s treble winning season in 2009/10.

Inter face Napoli this evening and Handanovic could set the record but if he fails to do so, he will have next week against Empoli to try and set it too.

The 34-year-old has been on Inter’s books since 2012 and is contracted to the club through to the end of the 2020/21 season.

This term he has been near ever present having made 47 appearances across all competitions in which he has accumulated a total of 20 clean sheets.
