Antonio Conte is expected to put pen-to-paper on a contract to become the next Inter manager in the upcoming week according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The former Italian national team manager, who has been out of work since last Summer when he left Chelsea, is due to succeed current Inter manager Luciano Spalletti, who despite being on the way out, still has a huge role to play for next season, the Milan based newspaper goes on to detail.

If Inter win their final game of the season next weekend against an Empoli side, who require a victory to avoid relegation, they will qualify for the Champions League.

Qualifying for the Champions League was the minimum goal set for Spalletti by the Inter management and failing to achieve qualification will almost certainly have big repercussions for Conte in his first season in charge especially in the transfer window.
