Inter Put Interest In Bergwijn & Pepe On Hold To Focus Entirely On Fiorentina’s Chiesa

According to Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, qualification to next season’s Champions League competition could directly affect Inter’s ability to spend on the transfer market, and more specifically, to sign Federico Chiesa.

“Inter have already started talks with Enrico Chiesa, Federico’s father. There is also mention of a meeting between the parties which took place in recent days. Chiesa is definitely a possibility, because Inter understand two things: firstly is that the player wishes to stay in the Serie A, and secondly it’s that Juventus and Chiesa are still talking but there is room for Inter to squeeze in and overtake them.”

“Fiorentina’s request of €70 million for Chiesa is considered very high and it is not a figure Inter are willing to pay, however, Fiorentina were interested in Roberto Gagliardini in January, so the figure could be reduced with the inclusion of the midfielder.”

“Chiesa is very adaptable on the pitch and can play out wide or more centrally. Inter have slowed down in their interest in Pepe and Bergwijn as they are focused entirely on their main target: Federico Chiesa.”
