Stefan de Vrij will make a return to the Inter starting line-up in their season finale at home to Empoli this weekend according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Dutch central defender has missed each of Inter’s last two games as a result of injury but he has now fully recovered.

He will replace Miranda, who has deputised in his absence, and will resume his partnership with Milan Skriniar, which has been one of the best defensive partnership not only in Italy but Europe this season.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to detail that Mauro Icardi is likely to get the nod over Lautaro Martinez to lead the Inter attacking line.

The 26-year-old started the 4-1 loss away to Napoli last weekend from the bench but came on to score a consolation goal for Inter from the penalty spot to take his seasonal tally to 17.
