Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has given the impression that he is growing impatient with the two Milanese clubs over the issue of the stadium.

Both clubs are evaluating potentially building a new shared stadium opposite their current San Siro home, that would be knocked down if they are to build a new modern state-of-the-art ground.

“I do not wish to put pressure on the clubs but this issue cannot stay on the table for too long as the fans are confused about what is happening,” he is quoted as saying by Turin based newspaper Tuttosport at the opening of a new rugby field in Milan in the via Padova area of the city.

“Inter and Milan have two important owners but they owe a lot to their fans. Inter and Milan are now both thinking about qualification to the Champions League.”

He concluded: “Projects for the stadium? I have not seen them yet.”
