Ahead of tonight’s season finale with Empoli, Corriere dello Sport have taken a look at the impact making the Champions League would have on Inter.

“Inter does not want to go back in time to 2017, when they were still looking for the Champions League and the millions it guarantees.

“Between ending up inside or outside the first four there is a big difference of at least €65-70 million, which is made up of the money from UEFA, money from the group stage matches and the bonuses from the sponsors.

“For the budget of any team this is a lot of money and that is no different for the Nerazzurri club, who have now left the settlement agreement with UEFA.

The report concludes: “A new project is due to begin with Conte on the bench and with the Champions League, the starting base would be decidedly more solid because the opportunity to invest on the transfer market would be greater.”
