Inter coach Luciano Spalletti is leaning towards starting with former Nerazzurri captain Mauro Icardi up front, in tonight’s season finale of the 2018/2019 Serie A season against Empoli, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who with just over an hour to kick-off report that the former Roma coach is expected to field Mauro Icardi in what could be the last Inter match for both of them.

This means that Lautaro Martinez will start the match on the bench, whilst Dutch international central defender Stefan de Vrij will start, replacing Brazilian international central defender Joao Miranda.

Probable line-ups according to Sky Sport Italia:

Inter (4-2-3-1): Samir Handanovic; Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar, Kwadwo Asamoah; Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino; Matteo Politano, Radja Nainggolan, Ivan Perisic; Mauro Icardi.

Empoli (3-5-2): Dragowski; Maietta, Silvestre, Dell’Orco; Di Lorenzo, Traore, Bennacer, Acquah, Pajac; Caputo, Farias. All.: Andreazzoli
