Inter could reward club captain Samir Handanovic with a contract extension for his multiple heroics this season according to a report from FCInterNews.it.
The Slovenian goalkeeper kept an impressive 20 clean sheets in 49 appearances across all competitions this season and is under contract with the club through to the end of the 2020/21 season.
The club could prolong his contract for a further season and will meet with his agent Fali Ramadani at the beginning of next month to discuss the prospect of a contract extension with the report stating, “the relationship between Samir and the Nerazzurri is destined to last longer.”
Handanovic, who will turn 35-years-old in a weeks time, is one of the longest serving players amongst the current playing squad at the Nerazzurri and he has racked up no less than 294 competitive appearances across all competitions since arriving from fellow Serie A club Udinese in the Summer of 2012.
