Empoli defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo has admitted he is still struggling to process the Azzurri’s relegation following their 2-1 loss to Inter on the final day of the season.
“It was an incredible match and we deserved to come out of Milan with at least one point. Inter are a great team and Handanovic made some extraordinary saves, but I am still struggling to digest the outcome,” he remarked in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
He then spoke on his future with him set to sign for Napoli whilst also confirming interest was there from the likes of Inter among others.
“It is a dream come true for me. Two years ago I was playing in the Serie C playoffs with Matera playoffs but now I’m signing for a big club in Serie A. Never give up.
“There were all these requests and for me it was a source of pride to be appreciated by the most important clubs.”
