Inter have received a boost in their reported pursuit of Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj after the Albanian told reporter his time with the Partenopei is ‘finished’.

Hysaj joined Napoli in 2015 and has made 170 appearances for them in all competitions, helping the Azzurri to three second-place finishes in Serie A in four years.

However, the 25-year-old told Digitalb yesterday the time has come for him to seek a new challenge.

“I’m ready for a new adventure, it’s time for me to change,” Hysaj said.

“I’m not the kind of player who stays in the same team forever and says he’s happy about it. I want to have new experiences, play for new teams and meet new people. Perhaps try and win something.

“My time at Napoli has come to an end. Now I hope I can find a team which can give me what I need.”

Last month FcInterNews.it reported Inter and Atletico Madrid were both interested in Hysaj, who has two years left on his current contract.
