Gabriele Oriali will finalise his return to Inter as the club’s team manager after Italy’s fixture against Bosnia on 11 June, according to Fabrizio Biasin.

Oriali has held the same position for the Italian national team since 2014 and spent two years working alongside Antonio Conte, who was officially unveiled as the Nerazzurri’s new head coach on Friday morning.

The 66-year-old has already spent 11 years working behind the scenes at Inter after making almost 400 appearances for the club as a player.

“Oriali had dinner with Conte, Steven Zhang and Beppe Marotta a few days ago,” Biasin reported on Twitter this afternoon.

“Inter will finalise their agreement with him after the upcoming international break.”

Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri will travel to face Greece in Euro 2020 qualifying on 8 June before hosting Bosnia three days later.

Oriali worked both as a transfer consultant and as technical director during his last stint at Inter between 1999-2010.

Inter attempted to bring the Italian back to the club in 2017 after appointing Luciano Spalletti but were ultimately unable to release him from his contract with the FIGC.
