Inter target Federico Chiesa is still to be considered on the transfer market despite an official statement from Fiorentina claiming the forward will not leave the club this summer.

Chiesa, 21, also has interest from Juventus and overseas clubs and is expected to dominate the front pages of Italy’s sports papers until he has left the Viola in the coming weeks.

Sky Sport this evening assured Fiorentina’s statement is not as clear-cut as it seems, with the club likely to be sold soon from the Della Valle brothers to American billionaire Rocco Commisso.

“It should be seen more as role play because there is still uncertainty around the club at the moment,” one reporter explained.

“Commisso is in talks to buy the club so Fiorentina’s stance could change if and when he takes over.

“We’ll need to wait and see what Chiesa wants and if there are any clubs, either in Italy or abroad, capable of presenting an offer that makes the Viola reconsider their position.”

Chiesa contributed 12 goals and nine assists in all competitions for Fiorentina this season as they narrowly avoided a shock relegation to Serie B.
