Fiorentina have released a statement on their official homepage ruling out a transfer this summer for their Italian international winger Fedrico Chiesa.

The current club owners, the Della Valle brothers, are reportedly in talks with American billionaire Rocco Commisso who tried to buy AC Milan last summer.

According to the New York Times, Commisso, who owns the New York Cosmos, is ready to pay $150 million for Fiorentina, who narrowly escaped relegation from the Serie A this past season.

The statement read: “We continue to read diffuse news from other regarding the future of Chiesa and where he will play next season.”

“The current ownership want to take this moment to clarify that Federico is a Fiorentina player, who is tied to the club thanks to a long contact and therefore, as far as we are concerned, Chiesa will play in Florence next season and will be the player that is the symbol of the team that will be built.”
