The match-winner from Italy’s round of 16 clash with Poland in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Inter owned striker Andrea Pinamonti, told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the match that he decided to do a Panenka penalty to silence the crowd an Poland’s goalkeeper.

“It was a very complicated match, we already knew this would be the case. Poland are a great team and they had the entire stadium on their side too. When I was running up to take the penalty everyone was jeering, their goalkeeper made gestures towards me and to score a penalty in that manner was a way to win this battle.”

“Our group has the force to go all the way, and from this point on everyone we play is of a high level but so are we. We are ready to take on every opponent, whoever they may be.”

Inter owned Pinamonti spent last season on loan with Frosinone in the Serie A where he scored 5 goals in 25 appearances.
