Inter are monitoring the progress of Rennes’ €15 million-rated midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud, according to reports in France.

Bourigeaud, 25, contributed nine goals and ten assists for the Ligue 1 outfit last season and is also attracting interest from Napoli, Roma and Sevilla.

Footmercato.net today reported Inter are keen on the midfielder and could consider making an offer at some point this summer.

Antonio Conte is known to want two reinforcements in the middle of his new team before preseason training, with Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella and Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini being frequently linked.

Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic was linked with a €40-million move earlier in the year but Inter’s interest appears to have cooled since, with the Croatian recently assuring he is happy in Spain.

It remains to be seen whether Bourigeaud would exclude the arrival of Rakitic or Barella or if the Nerazzurri could feasibly sign both.

Conte was officially unveiled as Luciano Spalletti’s replacement on Friday and had his first official day at work on Monday.
