Inter and Cagliari could meet on Thursday to make further progress in their talks regarding midfielder Nicolo Barella, Gazzetta dello Sport understands.

The Nerazzurri already have personal terms agreed with the player but face a trickier task closing a deal with the Sardinian club, as president Tommaso Giulini continues to ask for €50 million.

Inter are likely to offer a couple of players to Cagliari as a way of reducing the cash they need to pay and Giulini is said to have indicated Eder, who is currently playing for sister club Jiangsu Suning, as a profile he would be interested in.

Barella’s agent Alessandro Beltrami visited Inter’s headquarters in Milan earlier today and it is possible he also discussed Radja Nainggolan’s future with the club, given the Belgian is another of his clients.

Barella made 35 appearances for Cagliari last season and has made five appearances for the Italian national team, making his senior debut in October 2018.
