Inter are determined to provide their new boss Antonio Conte with a squad worthy of one of Europe’s top coaches, according to Gazzetta dllo Sport.

Conte was officially unveiled as the Nerazzurri’s new boss on a three-year deal on Friday, thought to be worth €11 million per season in wages.

Suning have invested more than half a billion euros into Inter since taking over the club in 2016 and are now ready to spend big again to revamp the squad in Conte’s image.

“The green light given by Suning to spend extra money to secure Conte is a very important sign for supporters,” Gazzetta explained.

“Zhang Jindong is a real fan of Conte and had already tried, in vain, to appoint him two years ago. Now he’s here the scenario changes.”

Suning spent €114 million on transfers in their first summer at Inter, before investing a further €89 million and €85 million in the following two off-season windows.

Inter’s market value has risen by 41% to €692 million since 2018 and suggests the club will be opening their cheque book once again this summer.

Diego Godin has already been secured on a free transfer but Suning will be looking for more high-profile signings to give Conte a chance of restoring Inter to their former glories.

Edin Dzeko and Nicolo Barella could be the club’s next acquisitions while they chase Fiorentina forward Federico Chiesa and Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
