Fiorentina’s new owner Rocco Commisso has cryptically described Federico Chiesa as ‘one of the club’s assets’ amid rumours of a move to Inter or Juventus.

Commisso is due to complete a takeover of the club in the coming days after reaching an agreement with the Della Valle brothers.

His first tough decision as the club’s owner will be related to Chiesa’s future and the 69-year-old did not seem to be willing to rule out a sale.

“I’m here to win, not to sell players on the cheap,” he is quoted by La Repubblica as having said.

“Federico Chiesa is one of the club’s assets.”

Sky Sport last night reported Juventus had agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old on the basis of a five-year deal, dealing a potentially decisive blow to Inter’s hopes of snapping up the forward.

The Nerazzurri have not yet lost hope of winning Chiesa over, though, and will continue to try until it becomes impossible.
