Inter remain certain of signing France under-17 captain Lucien Agoume from Sochaux despite late interest from Juventus and Manchester City, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Agoume will sign a three-year deal with the Nerazzurri – the maximum allowed for a player under-18 – for a fee of slightly more than €4.5 million, after Suning decided to increase their offer to protect their advantage.

The midfielder only has one year left on his contract with the Ligue 2 club, who therefore cannot make excessive requests in terms of a fee.

Inter yesterday received reassurance from the player’s agent and the intermediaries organising the deal that the Nerazzurri remained their ‘first and only option’.

Agoume is considered one of the brightest young talents in French football and has made 11 appearances for their under-17 side.

Inter are expected to complete the move officially on Friday and will then decide where it would be best for Agoume to play during the 2019-20 campaign.
