Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and CEO Beppe Marotta have inquired into the availability of Real Madrid duo Mateo Kovacic and Marco Asensio, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

According to the report, the two Inter directors have returned from Madrid after having spent almost a week there where they among other things met with Real Madrid directors to see if it was possible to sign former Nerazzurri midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

However, the Nerazzurri’s dream signing is Spanish winger Marco Asensio who has not received a lot of first team football with the Los Merengues and with the imminent arrival of Eden Hazard, that is not likely to change this coming season.

Asensio signed for Real Madrid in November 2014 but did not become part of the Los Merengues until the summer of 2016 and he has since made 135 appearances across all competitions scoring 27 goals in the process.
