Manchester City defender and reported Inter target Danilo could be set for a surprise move to Juventus in a swap deal with Joao Cancelo, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 27-year-old was heavily linked with the Nerazzurri before the end of the 2018-19 season with rumours of a €15 million bid rejected by the Premier League champions.

City manager Pep Guardiola wants to sign Cancelo, who joined Juve for €40 million after a successful season on loan at Inter, and could convince the Bianconeri to arrange a swap.

“Juventus value Cancelo at €60 million but that doesn’t have to just be cash,” Gazzetta explained this morning.

“The clubs are considering the idea of a swap deal, in which City would pay the Bianconeri €40 million plus Danilo, valued at €20 million.”

Danilo made 22 appearances in all competitions for City last season and has disappeared off Guardiola’s radar in recent months.

Cancelo, meanwhile, played 34 matches for Juve and contributed five assists.
