Inter manager Antonio Conte remains hopeful that Mauro Icardi will have left the club by the time the pre-season retreat to Lugano comes round according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

Icardi and his wife/agent Wanda Icardi are absolutely determined to remain in Milan despite the clear fact that Inter no longer deem the 26-year-old as part of the club project.

As per the report, Wanda, who is largely at fault for this whole situation, continues to reject offers to move away from the Nerazzurri.

The 32-year-old’s comments in the media contributed to a huge breakdown in relations with the club and also led to a toxic atmosphere forming in the dressing room after she went after some of her husband and client’s teammates.

During the 2018/19 season Icardi made 37 appearances across all competitions. In just shy of 3000 minutes on the field, the Argentine scored 17 goals and tallied five assists.
