Milan Skriniar has shared his ambitions to challenge for the Serie A title next season following the recent appointment of Antonio Conte as Inter manager.
“Spalletti is a great person and a great Coach, but the club made its decision. Now there is Conte, there are new expectations and we want to challenge for the Scudetto,” he told Sport Mediaset.
Skriniar then proceeded to talk about Mauro Icardi, whose future is reportedly far away from Inter.
“Icardi is a great player and a friend, so we will see what happens. If he remains, then we will be happy about that.”
He also spoke on the pending arrival of Diego Godin at the Nerazzurri.
“Godin will make the squad even more competitive and that is the most important thing.”
He concluded the interview by reflecting on the 2018/19 season.
“The season was satisfactory because we got into the Champions League, but can always do better. The results in the final weeks of the season weren’t what we wanted, but our objective was to finish in the top four and we achieved that.”
