Inter will not relinquish control of Andrea Pinamonti’s future this summer as the club believe fully in the 20-year-old striker, according to Sky Sport.

Pinamonti has been mooted as a potential makeweight in the Nerazzurri’s deal to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella, with Roma also requesting him during negotiations for Edin Dzeko.

However, Inter will only let go of the forward on loan or with a buy-back option because they do not want to repeat the mistake made with Nicolo Zaniolo.

Zaniolo moved to Roma as part of the deal taking Radja Nainggolan to Inter last summer and has since exploded in the Giallorossi’s first-team.

Inter believe Pinamonti can become one of Italy’s most important centre-forwards in the coming years and will not make the same error twice.

Pinamonti scored twice for Italy’s under-20s on Friday as they beat Mali 4-2 to reach the semi-finals of this summer’s World Cup in Poland.
