Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini has praised Inter and Italy Under-20 star Andrea Pinamonti for his performances at the ongoing Under-20 World Cup in Poland.

“They have done really well and reached the semi-final. It will be tough for them, as Ukraine are a very good side, but everyone in the Under-20 side and their coaching staff deserve credit.

“I already worked with Andrea Pinamonti at Inter, although clearly he was much younger then and he has improved a lot. He has great quality.”

He was also quizzed on the future of Gabriele ‘Lele’ Oriali with the national team amid continued speculation that he could return to Inter to take up the role as team manager.

“I believe when things are going well, it is better not to fix something that does not need fixing. I do not know if Oriali will stay, but I see no reason to change.”
