Napoli owner and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that Inter are wanting to sign the Partenopei’s best players this Summer.
Inter have drawn links to several Napoli players lately, particularly Lorenzo Insigne, but De Laurentiis has insisted that he has no intention of selling the key players in his team.
“My staff tell me that Inter wants to dismantle my team and have asked for my best players, but I have no intention of selling them, not Piotr Zielinski and not Lorenzo Insigne. Insigne could play in any of the big European teams, but right now he is with Napoli and he is happy.
“We are not a supermarket; our players are not for sale unless we buy someone whom we think will make the team stronger. So many teams ask for our players, but they are not for sale.”
He was also asked about the possibility of signing Mauro Icardi from Inter.
“I can’t say anything, but we are aware of all the good strikers on the market, and we are waiting to pounce once the right opportunity arises. We tried to take Icardi three years ago.”
