Mateo Kovacic is open to returning to Inter amid reported interest in his services from the Nerazzurri according to a report from La Repubblica.

The Croatian’s name was brought up in talks between Inter management and Real Madrid’s management and Inter were told that Kovacic is valued at €60 million.

As per the report from the Rome based news outlet, Inter however are looking to do a deal on a loan with redemption option basis for the 25-year-old, who spent two and a half years on Inter’s books prior to joining Los Blancos in 2015.

Kovacic spent the past season on loan at Premier League outfit Chelsea and is seemingly not in Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans at the Santiago Bernabeu.

During the course of the 2018/19 season, Kovacic made no less than 51 appearances across all competitions. In almost 3100 minutes, he assisted two goals and was part of the Chelsea team which won the Europa League.
