Nicolo Barella has discussed the alleged interest in his services as links to a host of clubs, including Inter, persist in the media.
“As I have always said, interest from other clubs means I have done well, so I consider it a compliment and further motivation,” the 22-year-old midfielder told Rai Sport following Italy’s 3-0 victory over Greece, a match in which he scored in.
“I hope to keep doing well and we will see what happens. This summer I am returning to Cagliari for my vacation, then we will see.”
As per various reports doing the rounds, Inter are closing in on his signing and have held several talks with Cagliari officials in the past few weeks.
It would appear as if the deal will be done on a player plus cash basis with several Inter youngsters having been mentioned as possible counterparts in the deal, which will cost around €50 million in total.
