Marcelo Brozovic is set to become a key player in Inter’s new-look side under Antonio Conte next season, according to Tuttosport.

Brozovic topped Serie A’s charts last season for touches on the ball (3,107), attempted passes (2,520) and completed passes (2,271), underlining the play-making qualities he refined under previous coach Luciano Spalletti.

However, the Croatian was also first for distance covered (11,864 km) and third for interceptions (141), behind only Napoli players Kalidou Koulibaly (154) and Allan (147).

“Take Andrea Pirlo, blend him with Ngolo Kante and the drink you’ll pour into your glass is an excellent Marcelo Brozovic,” Tuttosport joked this morning.

“Conte is building his new Inter side with the club’s management and he already has a reference point in midfield.

“Brozovic’s qualities make him a mix of two players who turned out to be key in Conte’s triumphs in his previous two clubs, Juventus and Chelsea.”

Brozovic was also among the top five for distance run in last season’s UEFA Champions League group stages, running 73,447 metres during Inter’s six matches.
