Milan Skriniar, Lautaro Martinez and Samir Handanovic are the three players around whom Antonio Conte intends to build his new Inter squad for next season, according to Sky Sport.

Skriniar recently signed a contract extension with the Nerazzurri through to 2023 and was never likely to leave, forming one of Europe’s most formidable central defensive departments alongside Stefan De Vrij and Diego Godin.

Lautaro scored nine goals in all competitions last season and is proving himself a dependable striker at a high level both with Inter and Argentina, although Mauro Icardi’s probable departure requires the club to find a more experienced head to partner him up front.

Handanovic arguably enjoyed his most impressive season at Inter during the 2018-19 camapign, taking over the captain’s armband when Icardi was stripped of it.

Icardi was then one of three players identified by Sky Sport as likely to leave the club this summer, along with Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic.
