Antonio Conte has vowed he will do everything to help Inter knock Juventus off their perch in Serie A after being appointed the club’s head coach.

Conte was officially appointed on a three-year deal by the Nerazzurri on 31 May and gave his first interview to GQ Magazine last week.

The interview was released in full this morning and revealed Conte’s burning desire to topple the club he helped rebuild at the start of the decade.

“Inter want to change the landscape of Italian football,” Conte said.

“I’ve already spoken with the club and we have a clear vision on this. We’ve set ourselves this objective and we’ll do everything to achieve it.”

Conte faces a difficult challenge winning over Inter’s more hard-line supporters given his glorious past at Juventus, but the Italian was confident their resistance would not cause undue trouble.

“I’ve never created excuses for myself and I won’t do so this time,” he asserted.

“I brought the league title back to Juventus, I came close to a European semi-final with the national team and I won the Premier League and FA Cup in two years at Chelsea.

“Inter expect to have a cycle like that, the past isn’t important for us. It’s results that matter in football, not where you’ve come from.”
